It's an extra special thing when ministries work together to help people in need. Pastor Tim Zoltowski, with Foundations for Christ, read about our five newest children from the Batwa tribe and was moved with compassion after he saw how families were living in dirt. His ministry directly addresses housing needs for people living in rural areas in substandard living conditions, so he wanted to help the Batwa. His team donated $600 (US) to build a home for the family of one of our new students.

The family was surprised and amazed when they learned they were chosen for a home. They would no longer have to live in a dugout in the side of the hill (see photo above). Village members were happy to have work and were hired to build the home. Even our Director, Innocent lent a hand during construction on behalf of the family! Trees were cut from a nearby forest and stripped of their bark. Tin sheets for the roofing were delivered and installed. The father, Peter said, “I thank God for a home with an iron sheet roof.” His wife, Brenda said, “I appreciate the gift of the house and the blessing of a new home.” Now they have room to move around, cook, and sleep — dignity restored.

Pastor Tim and his daughter Emmy happened to be in-country at the same time the home was completed. They prayed for Peter and Brenda and blessed their new home. It's an amazing testimony when a family receives a home they never imagined or expected. God's love was evident, and hearts were moved, so much so, government officials were present at the handoff to the family. Hope and faith were multiplied throughout the entire village. Lives are changed when God’s people work together on behalf of those in need.

Pastor Tim and Emmy made time to visit PPMU while in Kabale. They brought love, laughter, and a few gifts for the children. Pastor Tim visited PPMU in 2023, so the children were happy to see him again. They had a great time with the new soccer balls he and Emmy brought. Innocent took them to see our dairy herd where they were treated to an "in-field" milking. Friends like Pastor Tim and Emmy are a gift from the Lord. We’re so grateful for their love, support, and unexpected visit.

PPMU loves to host visitors! If your church or youth group would like to plan a mission trip, please contact us and we will help you arrange it.
