With 162 kids and 15 staff, It's no surprise the busiest department at our school is the kitchen. Students help to carry firewood so the cooks can begin meal preparation. The more help they give, the sooner their lunch will be ready! The cooks prepare beans, green vegetables, and a Ugandan dish called "posho," which is made from maize meal. On rare occasions, the children are treated to roast meat.
Each month a truck delivers a large load of wood. It's very important to keep the wood dry, especially during the rainy season. Our kids love to lend a hand anytime they can.
Firewood costs $110 to $120 (US) per month. This comes out of our Operational Funds. Would you help us purchase firewood? Click here and become a monthly donor today!
