Nothing Beats a Brand New Kitchen

PPMU is blessed to own the land and buildings where our orphanage/school resides. Our campus structures include staff offices, boys and girls dormitories, lavatories, and a seperate kitchen building. We work hard to ensure there is a safe and clean environment for the children we serve to thrive. In addition, we are required as a registered school with the Ugandan government, to meet certain safety standards. After a routine safety audit in 2020, we discovered our kitchen building did not meet the required regulation. It was time to rebuild our kitchen structure from the ground up!

The new kitchen was completed April 2021 and it has proved to be a wonderful investment. The cooking staff prepare all meals from inside the kitchen and when food is ready to serve, the children line up, wash their hands, and then receive a plate of food from the outside kitchen window. This keeps things clean, orderly, and less chaotic for the cooks. A small storage tank outside the kitchen provides access to clean water instantly. Our cooks love their new kitchen!
