Reading, Writing, Science and Math

A new school term began this February and with that comes new course workbooks for each of our students and teaching staff. There are three terms per year, so new workbooks are needed regularly and can range in cost from $5 - $20 (US) per item. PPMU follows the Ugandan Ministry of Education curriculum requirements and standards along with Biblical instruction for grades kindergarten – seventh. At the end of each term, students are tested before advancing to the next level.

As you can see from the photos, our students are proud of their new workbooks and just like any other kid around the world, school is more fun with snack-breaks and recess. Nutrition and playtime are key to creating a conducive learning environment. One of the first things we address when a child enters our program, is seeing they have nutritious meals/snacks on a regular basis. A wise person once said, “An empty stomach has no ears.” When children are forced to solely focus on survival, there is little room for them to discover their God-given gifts and talents. Our school meets their basic needs, so they are free to learn and discover who God made them to be. Our prayer is that each child we free from the bondage of poverty will reach their full potential and have a positive impact on our world for Jesus!
