Our Gleaning Ministry recently had the privilege of providing food to a single-father of five boys, three of which are toddler triplets. Their mother passed away shortly after the triplets were born and their dad has bravely been raising them on his own ever since. Single-family homes in Uganda are usually made up of a widowed mother or grandmother raising multiple children. Unfortunately, fatherless households are a common problem which drives families further into poverty. It was a pleasant surprise to see this father taking care of his children to the best of his ability on his own. When PPMU Director, Innocent Mucunguzi met them, the children were so hungry they began eating the food raw. He and his boys greatly appreciated and needed the timely support.
A little goes a long way. For just $200, we provide two-weeks’ worth of food to six extra families every month. Would you help us feed families in great need? Please donate today by clicking here. Even as little as $25 can make a world of difference.
Leviticus 19:9-10 - "When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God."
