Every Wednesday, our fourth through sixth grade classes participate in a debate. Topics range anywhere from economics, education, nature, to biblical truths. This improves communication skills and helps the students present themselves in other public settings. This week the proposers and opposers debated whether alcohol should be abolished in Uganda. Students are encouraged to use thinking and logic while debating. Respecting one another and loving others with differing opinions is also greatly encouraged. Another positive outcome of debating is the kids learn how to defend the word of God when discussing spiritual topics with family and friends.
