PPMU is honored and proud to be serving 162 children in the Kabale District of Uganda. Unfortunately, there are still more children outside of our program that desperately need our help. Until we can formally bring them into our orphanage/school (as space and funds allow), the PPMU Board voted to use $200(US) of our operational funds each month to meet their immediate physical needs. Our decision was led by the Biblical concept of "gleaning" from:
Leviticus 19:9-10 - "When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God."
This provides two weeks' worth of food for six families in dire need. We run on a very small budget, but believe it is about helping people in Jesus' name. God loves them and we hope to show them they are not forgotten. Innocent works with local village leaders to identify the neediest families. He uses our ministry van to distribute food. He also prays with each family and reminds them of God's love. "Gleaning" encourages the faith of each recipient.
